Maruti Suzuki has started testing the facelifted 2020 Dzire in the country. As seen in the spy shot, the 2020 Dzire sports a cosmetic update with the majority of the changes at the front. We also expect it to come with a slightly revamped interior. Reports also claim it could utilise Maruti’s new Dualjet petrol engine.
In terms of design, the facelifted Dzire’s single-piece grille design is smaller and sharper than ever while the headlamps look similar to the current model. Below it are the new bumpers with redesigned airdams. In profile, the test mule seen here looks similar to the existing model. At the rear we expect the facelifted Dzire to come with restyled LED tail lamps and bumper.
The interior of the facelifted Dzire is yet to be revealed. However, we expect changes to be minimal, limited to a new colour scheme and redesigned upholstery.
The 2020 Dzire is also expected to come with new features like cruise control, auto-dimming IRVM and an updated Smartplay Studio infotainment system. Features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, climate control, steering mounted audio controls, a multi-info display, keyless entry with push button start and automatic headlamps will most likely be retained.

Under the hood the facelifted Dzire will most probably utilise the existing 1.2-litre K12B petrol engine developing 83PS of power and 113Nm of torque. It could be offered with a 5-speed manual and AMT options. Reports also claim that Maruti could introduce the 90PS 1.2-litre Dualjet motor as a frugal and powerful alternative to the 1.3-litre DDIS motor.
The facelifted Dzire is expected to be launched in the near future. Expect it to command a marginal amount over the current model which starts from Rs 5.83 lakh. It will renew its rivalry with the Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze and the Ford Aspire.
