The facelifted Dzire gets a nip and tuck as well as Maruti’s new 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine

Maruti Suzuki has launched the facelifted Dzire with prices starting from Rs 5.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelifted Dzire gets a minor nip and tuck as well as a more powerful 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine. Maruti has also used this opportunity to throw in a few more kit to make it more appealing. Here are five important highlights:

What’s New On The Outside?

At first glance, the facelifted Dzire looks largely similar to the standard model. A closer look reveals a tweaked front grille and an updated bumper with new fog lamp housings. Meanwhile, the side profile and rear end remain largely unchanged, which is no bad thing. Here's a detailed comparison of how the 2020 Dzire looks when compared to the pre-facelift Dzire.

Features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, climate control, steering-mounted audio controls, keyless entry with push button start and LED headlamps have been retained. The main change is under the hood. The Dzire now comes with Maruti’s new 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine that develops 89PS of power and 113Nm of torque. While it misses out on a 12v mild-hybrid system seen in the Baleno, the Dzire’s unit comes with start-stop functionality. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.

The 1.3-litre diesel engine has been discontinued from the lineup as it will not be upgraded to meet BS6 emission norms.

Signing The Cheque:

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is priced from Rs 5.89 lakh (ex-showroom). It locks horns with the Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze, Ford Aspire and VW Ameo.
