Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2020 Ignis facelift in India with prices starting from Rs 4.89 lakh. We were under the impression that Maruti would launch the updated hatchback at Auto Expo 2020. But better late than never, right? So, what’s new is updated styling and the inclusion of a BS6-compliant powertrain. All of this comes at a nominal premium of just Rs 6,000 over the outgoing BS4 version.

Here’s the detailed pricing:

Variant New Price (ex-showroom) Old Price (ex-showroom)
Sigma Rs 4.89 lakh Rs 4.83 lakh
Delta Rs 5.67 lakh Rs 5.61 lakh
Zeta Rs 5.89 lakh Rs 5.83 lakh
Delta AMT Rs 6.13 lakh Rs 6.08 lakh
Zeta AMT Rs 6.36 lakh Rs 6.30 lakh
Alpha Rs 6.73 lakh Rs 6.67 lakh
Alpha AMT Rs 7.20 lakh Rs 7.14 lakh

The changes to the exterior are minimal. So, you get new front and rear bumpers with silver accents and a novel grille, which we are not huge fans of. Apart from that, cosmetically, the Ignis remains the same but there are two new colours: Turquoise Blue and Lucent Orange. Apart from this, the Ignis is also avaialbe with a dual-tone paint option for Zeta and Alpha variants priced Rs 13,000 more.

The changes to the cabin are also subtle. It gets a new 7-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and an urban fabric option. All the standout features from the outgoing Ignis have been carried over. This includes steering-mounted audio controls, automatic climate control, push start stop, and MID with TFT screen. However, the biggest change to the cabin is the increased boot space from 260 litres to 275 litres.

The Ignis is powered by a sole BS6-compliant 1.2-litre VVT petrol engine, which develops 83PS of power and 113Nm of torque paired with a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox option. It rivals the Ford Figo, Maruti Suzuki Swift, and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
