Here’s A Rendering Of The 2020 Skoda Octavia RS If You’re Jonesing Too

The Skoda Octavia RS has always had a fan following in India. So it wasn’t a surprise when Skoda ran out of stock just a month after its India launch in 2017. Well, the Octavia RS is no longer on sale in India. But what if we were to tell you that the soon-to-be-revealed next-gen Octavia could get an RS variant as well?

The 2020 Skoda Octavia is slated for a global debut on November 11 and we know how the upcoming model looks thanks to a leaked image. And, like us, if you too are imagining what the new Octavia RS could look like, fret not. A render of the upcoming model has surfaced online and this is how the upcoming model could look like. The new Skoda Octavia will be one of the five models that Skoda Auto plans to launch in India by 2021 under its ‘India 2.0’ strategy.

We all know that the Octavia RS is a souped-up variant of the sedan and comes with sporty design elements. Keeping up with the sporty theme, expect all chrome elements to be blacked out. And to further aid aesthetics and aerodynamics, it could sit lower to the ground thanks to a stiffer suspension set-up.

Inside, the 2020 Octavia RS will borrow its dashboard from the standard model. However, all the elegant wood and gloss black trims are expected to be replaced by carbon fibre inserts. It could also come with an all-black theme with red stitching for its sports seats and steering wheel. Expected features in the 2020 Octavia RS include digital dials, touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected-car tech, drive modes as well as limited slip differential.

Under the hood, the 2020 Octavia RS is expected to continue with its 2.0-litre TSI engine in two states of tune: RS230 and RS245. As the names suggest, the RS230 develops 230PS while the RS245 puts out 245PS. Expect both models to come with a 6-speed DSG. To provide additional oomph, Skoda might equip the 2020 Octavia RS with a 48V mild-hybrid system for additional torque boost.

The 2020 Octavia is slated to be unveiled on November 11 and is likely to go on sale in India by mid 2020. There are high chances that Skoda could bring the next-gen RS as well considering the tremendous response the current RS received. It could also bring the souped-up RS245 variant as the Czech carmaker was evaluating the particular variant of the current car for our country. We just hope that the price tag is as tempting as the current model (Rs 24.62 lakh, ex-showroom). Fingers Crossed! Meanwhile, Skoda could treat us with the Kodiaq RS SUV soon! It will come with sportier bumpers, sleek LED fog lamps, bigger alloy wheels and red brake callipers.
