Skoda’s Most Powerful Octavia Finally Gets A Booking Date!

• Available in five color options: Rallye Green, Race Blue, Corrida Red, Magic Black, and Candy White
• It Gets the same 2.0-litre TSI engine from the RS230, but makes 245PS and 370Nm.
• It Goes from 0-100kmph in 6.6 seconds and a top speed of 250kmph.

Shortly after debuting the Octavia RS245 sedan at Auto Expo 2020, Skoda has announced that bookings for the performance sedan will commence on March 1 2020 at a token price of Rs 1 lakh. The Octavia RS245 will be offered at a price tag of Rs 36 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and is limited to just 200 units. 

The biggest highlight in the Octavia RS245 is what’s under the hood. It uses the same 2.0-litre TSI engine from the RS230, however it puts out 245PS and 370Nm, through the front wheels. This is 15PS and 50Nm more than the RS230. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 7-speed DSG coupled to an electronic limited slip differential.

All this power gives it a 0-100kmph sprint time of 6.6 seconds and a top speed of 250kmph. It also comes with some cool performance trickery with  vRS mode which alters the characteristics of the engine, electronic assists, and stability control systems.

The Octavia RS245 does differ from its other variants with features like bigger 18-inch wheels, dedicated RS badges and a ground clearance lower by 15mm. Interior equipment consists of Alcantara sports seats, contrast red stitching, RS badges and a flat-bottom steering wheel. It also gets a digital instrument display and a bigger 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
