Triumph’s most performance-oriented motorcycle, the Street Triple RS, received an update last year and we were keen to see the 2020 bike land on our shores. An online launch was planned for March 25, but unfortunately, due to the global scenario with the COVID-19 pandemic, this launch has been postponed until further notice. Triumph says it will announce a new launch date after March 31.
The 2020 Street Triple RS broke cover last October with cosmetic updates, better features, revised ergos, and a tweaked powertrain. We had the chance to ride this baby on track last year, and came away quite impressed. You can check out our thoughts here.
The biggest talking point for the 2020 model is the engine which is now Euro5-compliant, meaning it also meets upcoming BS6 emission norms. The motor uses Triumph’s Moto2 expertise to churn out 123PS and 73Nm of torque. Details of the updated motor are available here.
What's also new is a bi-directional quickshifter that now comes as part of the standard kit. Its rider modes have been tweaked for better performance while the TFT dash now gets the MyTriumph phone connectivity system. Remember to stay indoors and stay tuned to ZigWheels for more updates regarding a future launch date.
