TVS is working on updating the RTR 160 4V and the RTR 200 4V. While the former was spotted a few weeks back, the image of its flagship naked has leaked for the first time. However, don’t get your hopes high as the image reveals that the new RTR 200 4V gets just a mild cosmetic update in the form of a new LED headlamp unit.
However, rumours suggest that the 2020 RTR 200 4V might get a Bluetooth-enabled digital instrument cluster, which could be similar to the one seen on the NTorq 125. Apart from these, the 2020 iteration doesn't look radically different than the current model. However, we expect it to get some minor mechanical update as well. For starters, the motorcycle might get a BS6-compliant engine. In the current-gen variant, this 197.75cc fuel injected motor belts out 21PS of power and 18.1Nm of torque. Currently, the RTR 200 4V comes equipped with a 5-speed gearbox, but we can expect TVS to add an extra cog to boost its highway touring abilities.
Considering the limited number of changes that the upcoming new RTR 200 4V could get, we expect it to command a premium of Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 over the current non-ABS FI variant, which costs Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
