Ford has started testing the 2021 Endeavour. Based on spy shots, we can report that the next-gen Endeavour features redesigned exterior and interior, and is expected to be loaded with equipment.
The 2021 Ford Endeavour looks completely different from the butch design of the existing model. The front end with its massive honeycomb mesh grille and split headlamps gives it a mean look. In profile, the flared wheel arches with body cladding are nicely filled by the large alloy wheels. Moving on to the rear, the heavily camouflaged Endy was seen with plain looking tail lamps.
Inside, the 2021 Endeavour’s dashboard looks quite different from the existing model’s. We could make out elements like the flat-bottom steering wheel and a touchscreen infotainment system, which could possibly be a floating unit. Other highlights include a redesigned central console and a new rotary gear selector.
In terms of features, expect the 2021 Endeavour to come with connected car technology, three-zone climate control, cruise control, a panoramic sunroof, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ambient lighting, a digital instrument display and a powered tailgate. Expected safety features include 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors and electronic stability control.
Powertrain options for the 2021 Endeavour are yet to be revealed. We expect it to feature the latest iteration of Ford’s EcoBoost petrol and EcoBlue diesel engines. The India-spec Endeavour comes with a 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine developing 170PS of power and 420Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 10-speed automatic and can be had in rear wheel drive or all-wheel drive guise.
The next-gen Ford Endeavour is expected to be launched globally in 2021. Considering that the current Endy has a huge fanbase in India, we expect it to come to India sooner than later. Currently, the Endeavour is priced from Rs 29.55 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2021 Endy will lock horns with the Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturas G4 and MG Gloster.
