Even though Kawasaki has given us some of the most popular big bikes, its entry-level sportbike charge has faded away lately. However, one bike that could bring it back to life is the Ninja ZX-25R, which has been recently updated for 2021 in Indonesia.
You get four striking new paint schemes: Lime Green, Passion Red, Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Grey, and Metallic Spark Black. The first three are exclusively for the ZX-25R SE ABS variant, while the last option is solely available for the non-ABS base variant.
Among the three new shades for the Ninja ZX-25R SE, we like the Passion Red the most. It is a mix of red and white livery that gleams in the otherwise green-dominated Ninjas.
The Lime Green shade comes in the Kawasaki Racing Team’s red/black/white colours, similar to the KRT colour option we get for the BS6 Ninja 650. On the other hand, the Graphene Steel Grey is a dark grey colour with golden highlights for extra pizazz.
Apart from these, no changes have been made. The ZX-25R continues to employ the same inline-four 249cc motor belting out 51PS and 23Nm. Ensuring an effortless ride are modern-day components like a bi-directional quickshifter, electronic valves, a slip and assist clutch, power modes, and traction control.
The bike is sprung on a top-notch 37mm USD Showa fork and a monoshock, while a radially mounted 310mm disc up front and 220mm disc at the rear help it cut down speed.
Prices (converted from IDR) of the 2021 Ninja ZX-25R start from Rs 5.1 lakh (non-ABS version) going up to Rs 5.95 lakh (SE ABS version). Even though prices are steep when converted to our currency, there’s no ignoring the fact that the ZX-25R is a one-of-a-kind motorcycle with unmatched power, features, and not to forget, its symphonic inline-four scream.
Sadly, pricing is a key factor in India, which is why the Kawasaki ZX-25R might have a short life here, just like the Ninja 400 did.
