Now, to the updates at hand, the 2021 Kwid now gets dual airbags as standard on all variants which keeps in line with the mandatory safety directive rolled out by MoRTH in April 2021. The additional passenger airbag was earlier available only from the RXT (O) onwards. Other safety additions include a driver side seat belt pretensioner and load limiter.

For the top-spec Climber trim, you now get a new dual-tone shade in the form of a white body with a black roof. It also comes with electric ORVMs, and day/night IRVMs.

Mechanically, it remains unchanged, being powered by the 0.8-litre and 1-litre petrol engines. The former develops 54PS and 76Nm while the bigger 1-litre unit puts out 68PS and 91Nm. Both engines can be had with a 5-speed manual while the AMT is limited to the 1.0-litre unit.

The Renault Kwid goes up against the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso and the Datsun redi-GO in the Indian market.
