The earlier iterations of the Hummer were all gas-guzzlers. But come 2023, and the Hummer will be an all-electric SUV. While enthusiasts might miss that rumble of its internal combustion engine, the specs should get you all excited, considering it develops up to 15,592Nm of torque! But before we delve into the details, let’s talk about the money.
The Hummer will be offered in five variants in the United States when it goes on sale in 2023. Here are the detailed variant-wise prices:

For the same money, one can buy an Audi A6, a BMW 5 Series, or even the recently launched facelifted E-Class in India. While all three personify luxury and a tough build, we think they don’t have the bragging rights of a bad ass SUV.
All five variants have all-wheel drivetrains, but the specifications will vary depending on the variant you choose. While it doesn’t keep its promise of developing up to 1000PS, the torque figures are still mind-boggling, to say the least. To make life easier, we have compiled the specs in a simple and easy-to-understand table. Here you go:

The first two variants come with a dual-motor setup on each axle, whereas the next three add an additional motor each. Thanks to the mammoth torque figures, the 830PS variants can go from 0-100kmph in around 3.5 seconds!
Specs aside, the Hummer EV is known for its off-road capabilities. The highlight is its ‘crabwalk’ feature, which allows the Hummer EV to be driven sideways, well, just like a crab. Other notable features include underbody cameras (for a real-time feed of the terrain), 35-inch off-road-specific tyres, and an ‘Extract’ mode. The last one lifts the suspension to the highest point, allowing you to clear large obstacles without scraping the belly.
We have done a detailed report about the Hummer EV pickup truck on which the SUV is based on. You can read about it here. The Hummer EV won’t make it to India, or for that matter, to any right-hand-drive market anytime soon. However, you can expect to spot one on the roads, considering Hummer enthusiasts would surely look to import one.
