New-gen Maruti Dzire reaches dealerships.
Bookings are open and test drives are set to begin soon.
It sports an all new look with a redesigned grille, updated lighting elements and new alloy designs.
Top features include 9-inch infotainment, 6 airbags as standard and segment-first additions like a sunroof, 360-degree camera.
It scored a full 5-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test.
Introductory prices range from Rs 6.79 lakh to Rs 10.14 lakh (ex-showroom)
The new-generation Maruti Dzire has been in the spotlight lately, and for good reason, thanks to its segment-first offerings and a splendid crash test score from GNCAP. The sub-4m sedan is now available at select dealerships, and order books are already open. However, if you're looking to schedule a test drive, you'll need to wait a little longer, as they are about to start soon.
Before you head to the showroom, here’s a quick in-depth look at the car:
The new Dzire is offered in four main variants: Lxi, Vxi, Zxi, and Zxi+. There are seven colour options to choose from, which we have detailed in another story linked below.
Design wise, the new Dzire has received a serious overhaul as it steps away from the shadow of the Swift. The sub-compact sedan boasts a fresh look with a revamped, more upright and stylish fascia, featuring a redesigned grille flanked by sleek, rectangular LED headlights with LED DRLs, connected by a chrome bar.
From the side, the Dzire sits on newly designed, dual-tone 15-inch alloy wheels, with a chrome strip running along the windows.
At the rear, you’ll find new Y-shaped LED taillights and a shark fin antenna. Just like the front, a chrome strip spans across the rear, connecting the taillights, with a boot lip-integrated spoiler situated above.

While the exterior of the Dzire is entirely refreshed, the cabin shares a resemblance to the Swift hatchback, featuring a familiar layout in a dual-tone black/beige theme with silver accents for contrast. There’s also an ash-grey faux wood finish on the dashboard. The large 9-inch infotainment screen floats at the center above the AC vents, which now have toggle switches for their control.
In terms of features, the new Dzire impresses with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, electrically adjustable ORVMs, cruise control, and keyless entry with push-button start/stop. The standout features are segment-first additions like a sunroof and a 360-degree camera.
Passenger safety is ensured with six airbags as standard, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and rear parking sensors.
The 2024 Dzire comes with the new Swift-sourced Z-series 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine, producing 82 PS and 112 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. Additionally, Maruti offers a factory-fitted CNG kit, which is more fuel-efficient, but has a reduced output of 70 PS and 102 Nm. The CNG option is available only with a manual transmission and the mid-spec variants of the Dzire. More details on the CNG variants in this story.
The Maruti Dzire’s introductory price list ranges between Rs 6.79 lakh and Rs 10.14 lakh (ex-showroom). Sure to say, the Dzire now poses a tougher competition than before for its rivals like the Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor and even the upcoming new Honda Amaze.
