Aprilia, the Italian exotic superbike manufacturer and MotoGP dweller, is out with another hot-headed superbike infused with extensive MotoGP techs. Aprilia has previously released superbikes based on the Aprilia RSV4 RR, thanks to its notorious “Factory Works” programme that makes fast bikes even faster. And with the donor bike being something as good as the RSV4 RR, the results are surely going to be astonishing. To put things into perspective, it’s like injecting Usain Bolt – the fastest man on earth – with the most potent steroids available to make him even faster!
As you might have guessed, the taste of MotoGP that the RSV4 R FW-GP provides is not going to be anything remotely affordable. However, what it can buy a regular customer is a super exclusive bike which he/she can win races with. The bike will also suit professional racers, especially because the bike’s undisclosed price includes post-sales support from Aprilia.
Aprilia’s unique V4 motor gets pneumatic valves, which essentially generate less heat as compared to the mechanical valvetrain, aiding in better race performance. The motor produces a whopping 250PS of power, which is going to put some serious dents in the atmospheric pressure around the darting motorcycle.
The bike was tested by experienced MotoGP racers like Scott Redding and Danilo Petrucci, both of whom hooned the bike around the Spanish racetrack.
Intrigued about the price? Well, we don’t have an exact number, but if we were to guess, we’d bet on a sticker price close to that of the Honda RC213V-S. Just in case you have no idea about this peculiarly named Honda, it is a road-legal MotoGP race replica. Honda offers it at an eye-watering price tag of around Rs 1.35 crore in the European markets. And, I am sure that Aprilia too has no plans to offer its race engineering at anything lower than that.
