The off-road endurance rally will be held on July 2, 2017,in the backwoods of Navi Mumbai. The event has already registered an entry of 25 participants including last year’s winner Syed Asif Ali of Bhopal and runner-up Shamim Khan of Nashik, both of whom have won the event four times. Apart from them, past champions including Manjeet Singh Bassan, Kunal Rao, Rustom Patel from Mumbai and Mujjafar Ali from Bhopal will also be seen competing.
The course plotted for the competition is a virtual marshland and the rains will surely add some more flavor to the competition. The rally is open to all India-made scooters which includes two-stroke, four-stroke , and offers trophies and cash prizes. The rally is divided under different categories depending upon the engine capacity and strokes of the scooters. The first category is for two-stroke scooters in the range of 80cc to 110cc and second is for two-stroke scooters in the range of 110 to 160cc. Third and fourth categories are for four-strokes with engine capacities upto 130cc and in the range of 130cc to 160cc respectively.
Standard entries will be accepted till June 22, 17.00 hours, while late entries close on June 27, 13.00 hours. Entry forms are available and accepted only at the SPORTSCRAFT office, Chitrakut, 3rd Floor, Siri Road, Chowpatty Bandstand, Mumbai 400 006. Special incentives are being offered for riders participating from Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Bhopal, Kolhapur, Jodhpur and Dehradun.A maximum of 50 entries will be accepted and Sportscraft reserves all rights to reject as well as increase the number of entries. Scrutiny and briefing for riders will be held on July 1 at ‘Our Lady’s Home’ in Parel, Mumbai, which will be followed by a ceremonial start. The starting point and finish point will be at K-Star Hotel,Navi Mumbai.
