Aprilia launches the SR 150 Race at Rs 70,061 ex-showroom Pune

Aprilia has launched its new scooter, the SR 150 Race with a price tag of Rs 70,061 ex-showroom Pune. The launch comes just a few short months after the launch of the Aprilia SR 150 (read review here), India’s sportiest scooter yet. The SR 150 proved to be Piaggio group's most successful scooter as it brought the Aprilia brand to the masses. Now you could own the coveted brand without emptying your bank account. Plus, the scooter's fresh design combined with its handling prowess and a competitive price tag made it a product that was hard to overlook. 

The Race features a new Maze Grey body paint and the same livery as the Aprilia's motogp bike, the RS-GP. The rear shock and both wheels now sport red paint. The 220mm Bybre front disc brake too boasts of a gold painted caliper.  Also new is the exhaust muffler which should make it sound sportier. It also gets a new slotted front disc rotor for improved braking performance. The instrument cluster though, remains unchanged. Prior to the Race the SR 150 was only available with black or white paint.

The engine remains untouched and is still powered by the 154cc single pot motor which churns out 10.4PS of max power and 11Nm of peak torque. The CVT gearbox on the other hand has been retuned for quicker acceleration as a result, the efficieny will be marginally affected. The styling too remains unaltered, it still features the sporty split headlamp setup, sharp lines, 14-inch wheels, a disc brake up front and the Aprilia DNA. Priced at Rs 70,061 ex-showroom Pune it makes a great case for itself and caters to the consumer who wants an SR 150 that stands apart from other SRs.
