Aprilia SR150 Race India Launch Tomorrow

The Aprilia SR150 changed the perception that we have about scooters that they aren’t as fun to ride as motorcycles. With its sharp and sporty styling, the Italian scooter also brought a fresh breath of air in an otherwise monotonously designed scooters that are available. Aprilia will launch a faster version of the 150cc scooter which will be called SR150 Race Edition tomorrow in the Indian market. Power output figures haven’t been revealed but we are sure that it will be tuned to offer better performance. The Aprilia SR150 Race Edition will have faster acceleration and hopefully a better top-end which will delight the enthusiasts. The stock scooter is powered by a 154.4cc air-cooled, single-cylinder motor which puts out 11.5PS at 7,000rpm and peak torque of 11.5Nm at 5,500rpm.

To distinguish the new 150cc scooter from the standard model, it gets a new maze grey colour that looks hot. Other details include revised graphics, aggressive exhaust muffler while the rear wheel and monoshock spring are finished in red. It is also rumoured that the SR150 Race will be equipped with a digital instrument cluster. The frame will remain unchanged but it is suspected that the Race version will sport drilled front disc brake. The Aprilia SR150 was launched at Rs 65,000 ex-showroom Delhi and we expect the Race Edition to carry a premium between Rs 5,000 to 8,000.
