The two-wheeler section was pretty at this year’s auto expo. But Aprilia broke the boredom with its unveiling of the new SXR160 maxi-style scooter. Scheduled to be launched in mid-2020, the scooter looks pretty elegant yet sporty at the same time. Check out the aspects of this Italian beaut in images:
Aprilia has developed the scooter particularly for the Indian market. The bulbous apron section looks pretty sporty and the black and grey highlights in the bodywork enhance the scooter’s looks even further.
The all-LED lighting system looks pretty neat. While the bulbous apron section looks muscular, it doesn’t go too well with the flat floorboard. We’d have liked if Aprilia had offered a raised middle section for that added muscular appeal.
The scooter employs telescopic forks, and the alloy wheels are 12-inch units on both ends.
The scooter gets a front disc with a single-channel ABS to comply with the latest safety norms, while at the same time to keep the costs under control.
The scooter packs a large digital instrument cluster which shows the mileage apart from the regular trove of information.
The switchgear quality is pretty much like any other scooter in its segment.
The mode button is likely for the instrument cluster a la the CFMoto 650 NK.
The apron-mounted hook should take care of securing small knick-knacks in your urban runabouts.
There’s a split apron storage compartment with an integrated USB charging port too.
The scooter shares its fuel injected engine with the Aprilia SR 160 BS6. It is likely to come in the same state of tune as the SR 160, with 11PS and 11.6Nm on tap.
The exhaust looks a little too stubby for a sporty scooter. But that’s presumably due to the strict BS6 emission norms.
The LED tail lamp looks really premium. It goes well with the overall design language of the scooter.
