The Tuono V4 Goes Under The Knife For 2021

There was a time when the Aprilia Tuono reigned supreme as the king of the nakeds. But recent pretenders to the throne like the Ducati Streetfighter V4 and the KTM 1290 Super Duke R have moved the goalposts in the supernaked segment. Aprilia has now responded with this: the ludicrous Tuono V4 X.
The dichotomy of the retro 2006 Bol d’Or livery and the cutting-edge MotoGP-inspired winglets is rather interesting. Those aerodynamic appendages are there for good reason because the Tuono V4 X uses the 1,077cc V4 engine from the RSV4 1100 Factory along with a full-titanium Akrapovic exhaust system, all powering a package that weighs just 166kg (dry). All the weight saving is thanks to billet aluminium control levers, carbon-fibre bodywork, and forged magnesium wheels from Marchesini. Oh, did we forget to mention the power figure? That explosive motor manages a CBR1000RR-R rivalling 220PS! All that firepower is kept in check with an IMU-assisted electronics package and top-spec cycle parts.
Since this is a track-only machine with no lights, indicators or mirrors, it can also roll on Pirelli Superbike slicks (obviously!) Unfortunately, only 10 of these monstrous machines will be made available to the public. But with an equally monstrous price tag of €34,900 (Rs 30.55 lakh), we doubt they’d be able to find too many buyers anyway.
