Asahi India Introduces Dark Green UV Cut Glass For Passenger Cars

Asahi India Glass (AIS) has introduced a new Dark Green UV cut glass, currently being used in Maruti Baleno. AIS worked closely with its partners in Japan to come up with this offering that is aimed at automotive applications. Some pros of the UV cut glass apart from reflecting harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays includes reduces load for the aircon compressor, extending the life of the cabin materials, and it complies with the Central Motor Vehicle Regulation (CMVR) for transparency.

The UV cut glass has also been receiving positive response from the OEM and aftermarket segment since its inception.The notable thing here is that the glass complies with the Indian Government's regulation for 50 per light transmission, making it an ideal alternative to conventional films.

Various OEMs have shown interest and are joining up with AIS to further develop the product. AIS is also contemplating to organise trails with OEMs to showcase the qualities of the product so that it becomes popular on a large scale. Trails with HVAC partners will also commence shortly. Mumbai 22nd October 2019: AIS introduced a unique solution for the Indian market called “Dark Green UV Cut Glass” in Maruti Baleno cars.

This product is revolutionary as it perfectly complies with the Indian regulation for light transmission of 50% for sidelites and also provides a lifetime solution for tinted glass which is banned by the Supreme Court of India.

OEMs have expressed deeper interest on the product and are collaborating with AIS to establish the impact of perceived benefits through an external agency.
