Based on the genes of the Valkyrie’s shelved race car project, the Valkyrie AMR Pro is even more hardcore version and with even more enhancements

Aston Martin has revealed the Valkyrie AMR Pro, a more hardcore version of the standard Valkyrie that debuted in March 2019. Claimed to be the ‘ultimate no rules’ hypercar, the AMR Pro pushes the boundaries in performance, speed and what not. In fact, Aston says its latest hypercar is built to take on the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours. But how did Aston make this a possibility?

Well, for starters, the Valkyrie AMR Pro’s genes are based on the Valkyrie's race car design that was built to compete in the new hypercar class in the 24 hours of Le Mans. Like before, Aston has roped in Red Bull Advanced Technologies to develop this hardcore hypercar. Therefore, it’s safe to believe Aston’s claim that its handling is as good as an F1 car’s.

With that being said, a few changes have been made to the Valkyrie AMR Pro’s platform for better aerodynamics and handling. For starters, it has 96mm and 115mm wider track at the front and rear respectively, while sitting on a 380mm longer wheelbase. The AMR Pro’s advanced aerodynamics packaging also means it’s 266mm longer than before. Such is the extent of these updates that Aston Martin claims the Valkyrie AMR Pro can push more than 3G of downforce.

Even the Cosworth-built 6.5-litre V12 that’s targeted to put out around 1014PS can be spinned up to an insane 11,000rpm (500 more than the standard Valkyrie). While Aston will reveal the final specification and numbers later this year, the British carmaker added that the AMR Pro can lap the 13.67km 24 hours Le Mans circuit in just 3 minutes and 20 seconds.

Aston was able to achieve this by giving the AMR Pro a severe weight reduction programme, consisting of but not limited to carbon fibre bodywork, carbon fibre wishbone suspension and perspex (solid plastic) windshield and side windows. Also, the infotainment system and air conditioning have been given the boot, further reducing weight.

Now to the final bit, its availability. Deliveries for the Valkyrie AMR Pro will begin in the last quarter of this year. And only 40 will be made, so be quick if you have your eyes set on one. Last but not least, customers of this super exclusive hypercar will also get to attend exclusive track days, probably the only setting where they can experience its full potential without breaking the law.
