The 007 Edition cars get a variety of cosmetic updates inside-out.
The Vantage 007 Edition will be limited to 100 units.
Only 25 units of the DBS Superleggera 007 Edition will be built.
Aston Martin has had a long standing association with British spy saga James Bond that began with the iconic Aston Martin DB5. And now, to celebrate the 25th Bond movie ‘No Time To Die’, expected in November 2020, the carmaker has launched 007 Editions of the Vantage and DBS Superleggera. The special edition models take inspiration from the fleet of cars James Bond will be driving in the movie as well as older Bond cars.
Starting with the Vantage 007 Edition, it pays homage to the original Aston Martin V8 that featured in the movie ‘The Living Daylights’ with bits such as a Cumberland Grey body shade, a bespoke mesh grille with chrome bezel, and a dashed yellow diffuser inspired by the hazard stripes on the film car’s rockets. You also get the option of limited edition skis and ski rack inspired by the film car. How cool is that!
The Vantage 007 Edition’s cabin consists of obsidian black leather trim, carbon fibre seat backs and dark chrome with 007 branding on the centre console of manual variants. All the cars carry another film reference on the sun visors in the shape of an embroidered radio station frequency: 96.60 (FM), the Russian police frequency Bond used to aid his escape in ‘The Living Daylights’. You also get a laser-etched gadget plaque that pays homage to the weapons on the flim car. Only 100 units of the Vantage 007 Edition will be produced globally. So be quick if you want one of these icons!
The second special edition car, the DBS Superleggera 007 Edition, is even more exclusive at only 25 production units. It gets a variety of design tweaks like a bespoke Ceramic Gery body shade with blacked out roof, mirror caps, splitter, diffuser and rear Aeroblade II that helps generate downforce. A set of gloss black diamond-turned 21-inch alloy wheels, a 007 fender badge and stainless steel silver 007 foil applied to the rear spoiler blade make up the design tweaks.
Heading inside, the DBS Superleggera 007 Edition gets black leather upholstery with streaks of red on the seats and 007 branding on the door cards, armrest buckle badge and on the rear subwoofer cover. It continues to be powered by a 5.2-litre V12 twin-turbocharged engine that produces 715PS of grunt and 900Nm of torque.
How much will it cost to own either of these models? Well the Vantage 007 Edition goes for GBP 161,000 (Rs 1.59 crore) whereas the DBS Superleggera 007 Edition retails at GBP 279,025 (Rs 2.75 crore).
There will be upto four Aston Martin models that will feature in the upcoming Bond movie, including the iconic DB5, the Aston Martin V8, the DBS Superleggera and the upcoming Aston Martin Valhalla hypercar. The new James Bond movie was initially scheduled to release earlier this year, but the coronavirus pandemic has postponed it to a November 2020 release.
