Audi's new sound system to enhance audible pleasures for their e-tron cars might be a radical idea, but they say it is in best interest of pedestrian safety

Audi e-tron

Audi definitely knows how to make its vehicles work wonders when it comes to superior performance and breathtaking sound that make people stop in their steps. Audi has been reportedly developing their new e-tron models that work on electricity, boasting mighty performance figures. But there’s a problem – true blue enthusiasts want all of that insane power going to the wheels to be audible, loud and noisy, as nothing is half as thrilling or satisfactory as the brutal sound a V12 or a V8. That is the core reason Audi’s sound engineers are carefully developing a show-stopping sound system to be in sync with their not so loud e-tron models for the future.

Audi claims their steps are in the best interest of the innocent pedestrian who may be crossing the road unaware of an electric car whooshing past silently. Perhaps, Audi realised it wouldn’t be much fun for pedestrians to hear, “Move out of the way, Audi incoming!” every time one puts the pedal to the metal, so Audi engineers are working on "new sound signatures" that will sound just like a mighty V8 roaring away with a bit of electronic jingle to it.

The clever sound system will change its tone depending upon how much the accelerator is pressed or released. That sound comes from a screaming 40 Watt speaker system that will be attached to the bottom of the car to deliver pure nirvana to your ears, and, of course, serve ample warning to the pedestrians as well.

What ever be the case, trust Audi to do its best in ensuring all your requirements are met. You also can be rest assured that future modifications to enhance the sound of your engine will be as easy as plugging in a new pen drive, forget installing those expensive mufflers!
