The Harrier automatic is offered with a BS6-compliant 2.0-litre Multijet engine that has been uprated to develop 170PS of power and 350Nm of torque. It’s mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox sourced from Hyundai. Just like the Jeep Compass BS6, the Harrier automatic utilises AdBlue technology for treating its emissions. The Harrier Automatic is available in three trim levels: XMA, XZA and XZA+.
The Harrier automatic also gets a couple of cosmetic updates to boost its styling appeal. This includes the new premium-looking 18-inch alloy wheels that fill up the large wheel arches nicely. It now comes finished in a new sporty 'Calypso red' shade. It also gets sleeker ORVMs that could result in less of a blindspot.
The 2020 Harrier is also the first Tata to be offered with a panoramic sunroof. Currently, only the MG Hector and the Jeep Compass are offered with it. Other new features include powered driver’s seat, an auto dimming IRVM
It also features 8.8-inch infotainment, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 9-speaker JBL sound system, climate control, cruise control, coloured multi-info display, as well as keyless entry with push-button start. Safety features on offer are 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, rear view camera, electronic stability program, hill hold control, and hill descent control.
It will lock horns with the Kia Seltos AT, Hyundai Creta AT, and the Jeep Compass AT. Bookings for the BS6 Harrier and its automatic variants had begun just days before Auto Expo 2020.
