Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e: Unleashing An Electric Revolution

With sustainable and cleaner mobility being the theme of the ongoing Auto Expo 2020, almost all car manufacturers took the opportunity to showcase an electric vehicle at their stall. Some even revealed compact EVs which could sit well below the Rs 10 lakh mark. Here are the top three compact electric vehicles that caught our eye at Auto Expo 2020.
Great Wall Motors, also known as GWM, showcased the R1 electric hatchback at Auto Expo 2020. The R1 is the world’s most affordable electric hatchback and will be launched in India as well. Its electric motor develops 47PS of power and 125Nm of torque. It draws power from a 33kWh battery pack and has a top speed of 100kmph. The R1 comes with a minimalist design and packs in features like a digital instrument cluster and a floating infotainment screen. Have a closer look at it here.
MG E200:
MG’s E200 is a micro hatchback that’s 2497mm long, 1526mm wide and 1616mm tall. The MG E200 can be had in either 2, 3 or even 4 seats. Although MG refrained from revealing the specifications of the hatchback, it did mention that the E200 will offer a claimed range of 250km. Yes, the E200 won’t come to India anytime soon. Mahindra launched the eKUV100 after showcasing at the previous Auto Expo. It’s priced from Rs 8.95 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the most affordable EVs you can buy in the country today. The eKUV100’s powertrain develops 54PS of power, 120Nm of torque and draws juice from a 15.9kWh battery pack. It has a claimed range of 147km. The eKUV100 also comes with a revamped design and looks a bit different from the standard ICE version. Have a closer look here.
