Chinese carmaker Haima has revealed the 7X MPV, which is equivalent to the Toyota Innova Crysta, at Auto Expo 2020. As we’ve seen with some Chinese offerings, the 7X takes several design cues from established luxury carmakers from the west.
The large single-piece front grille seems to have been inspired by the latest Audis! The sleek LED headlamps merge onto it, giving it a mean look. In profile, there is a prominent shoulder line which cuts through the profile. At the rear, the 7X comes with funky LED tail lamps and black plastic trim to reduce visual bulk.
There are design cues from luxury German carmakers inside as well! The dashboard’s twin-screen setup looks eerily similar to Mercedes-Benz cars while the AC vent design is similar to BMWs.
The 7X features a digital driver’s display, touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, cruise control, steering-mounted audio controls, as well as keyless entry with push-button start. It comes with safety features like ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, and rear parking sensors.
Under the hood, the CN-spec Haima 7X comes with a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine that develops 195PS of power and 293Nm of torque. It is offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. If launched in the country, the 7X could come with an oil burner like the majority of MPVs sold in India.
The Haima 7X will lock horns with the Toyota Innova Crysta when launched in India.
