MG Motor India has taken the wraps off the 360M MPV at Auto Expo 2020. It is essentially known as a rebadge of the Baojun 360 sold in China. Could this six-seater MPV be a potential Maruti Suzuki Ertiga rival?
On the outside, the 360M features traditional MG design elements like the honeycomb grille paired with LED DRLs. A set of funky alloy wheels make up the side profile. The rear looks relatively clean with a chrome bar that runs from one tail lamp to the other. It measures 4,615mm in length, 1,735mm in width, 1,660mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,750mm.
On the inside, the 360M comes equipped with features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, electric sunroof, powered driver’s seat, multi-function steering wheel, and captain seats in the second row. Safety features on offer are ABS+EBD+ESC as well as a parking camera.
Under the hood, the MG 360M is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that delivers 103PS of power and 135Nm of torque, paired to a CVT automatic transmission.
While the MG 360M shown at the expo is just a showcase, it has all the ingredients to make it to Indian shores. Expect more details on a potential launch of the SUV later. If MG does manage to launch the MPV, it is likely to happen much later in the year. Prices are likely to range from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom India). It could take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga/XL6 and the Mahindra Marazzo.
