After a long battle of votes spanning across 10 categories since the opening round on June 5, 2020, the third and final round of the Zigwheels Auto Premier League has come to an end. The finale saw a total of 28 cars battle to take top honors over the 10 categories. Here are the ones that came out on top:

Hatchbacks:
After a surprise entry into the final round, the Tata Tiago comfortably edged out the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R to take top honors for the best budget hatchback in the country.
The premium hatchback segment saw a close battle between the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Tata Altroz, and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios which led to the Altroz winning by a margin of three votes to the Swift.
SUVs:
Heading into one of the most competitive vehicle segments in India, the Tata Nexon finished as the top dog with the Hyundai Venue slotting in 2nd place and the Maruti Vitara Brezza rounding off the podium.
In the compact SUV space, it was the Hyundai Creta that won against the Tata Harrier with a surprise second place while the Kia Seltos finished third. It seems like the recent updates to the Harrier did make a difference after all.
In the full-size SUV segment, it was the Toyota Fortuner that edged out the Ford Endeavour for the top spot, with the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport taking third overall.
MPVs:
Heading over to the MPV segment, the Toyota Innova Crysta was voted India’s best MPV followed by the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the recently launched Kia Carnival.
Sedans:
The battle between the most popular and highest selling sub-compact sedans in India has resulted in the Maruti Suzuki Dzire taking the win closely followed by the Honda Amaze. The Hyundai Aura finished third on the list.
Moving upwards, the most recently updated sedan, the Hyundai Verna, won ahead of the Honda City and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
The battle of the executive sedans saw the Honda Civic emerge as the best in its segment, with the Skoda Superb and Toyota Camry Hybrid finishing second and third.
Green Car:
In the green car/EV segment, it was the Tata Nexon EV that emerged victorious by a comfortable margin, but the 1st runner up spot was incredibly a tie between the Hyundai Kona and the MG ZS EV!
