Bajaj Auto has recently introduced a new premium commuter motorcycle named the V15 which pays homage to the decommissioned aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. The scrap metal of the warship was bought by Bajaj, melted and re-used to manufacture the fuel tanks of the V15. Now, the Western Naval Command of the Indian Navy and Bajaj Auto together have organised a ride called The Invincible Ride’. The event is scheduled to take place in this month on the 23rd (Martyr’s Day).

The event will be flagged-off at the Kohli Stadium in Navy Nagar in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The ride will have Officers of the Indian Navy who will ride the Bajaj V15 to 23 Chattrapati Shivaji’s forts across the state.

The Bajaj V15 is a premium commuter bike which is powered by a 150cc single-cylinder engine which churns out 12PS of peak power at 7,500rpm and 13Nm of peak torque at just 5,500rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Suspension activities are handled by telescopic forks at the front and twin hydraulic gas charged shock absorber at the rear. The Bajaj V15 has an 18-inch alloy wheel at the front and a 16 inch alloy wheel at the rear. Taking charge of braking duties is a 240mm disc brake at the front and a 130mm drum brake at the rear.

By using the scrap metal from the famous INS Vikrant that was used during 1971 Indo-Pak war, Bajaj wants to capitalise on the patriot in its customers, and with ‘The Invincible Ride, they want to take it a step forward.
