[Update: Bajaj Dominar 250 Launched In India At Rs 1.6 lakh]
Bajaj will soon launch the Dominar 250. Dealerships across the country have already started accepting bookings for the motorcycle. The baby Dominar has already started arriving at dealerships as well.
The Dominar 250 will be a more affordable stepping stone to the Bajaj touring range. It gets the same bodywork and features as the larger Dominar 400. These include the bright LED headlamp, LED tail lamp and twin digital LCD instrument consoles. The motorcycle gets two colours: red and matt black. The green colour option remains exclusive to the larger Bajaj Dominar 400.

The motor will be derived from the KTM 250 Duke but is expected to offer a milder state of tune. So we could expect the 248.8cc liquid-cooled motor to offer a slightly lower power output than the KTM’s 30PS and 24Nm. Even the 6-speed gearbox is expected to be carried over.
The underpinnings are similar to the larger Dominar 400. It gets the perimeter frame, upside-down forks and monoshock. The only difference is the use of a cheaper box-type swingarm in place of the Dominar 400’s cast aluminium unit. Even the braking components too have been carried over. The Dominar 250 gets disc brakes at both ends and could feature single-channel ABS to save costs.
We expect the Dominar 250 to cost Rs 1.6 lakh to Rs 1.7 lakh. That would make it around Rs 30,000 more affordable than the Bajaj Dominar 400 and a good entry-level tourer for beginners. The Bajaj Dominar 250 will compete will the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
