[Update: Bajaj Dominar 250 Launched In India At Rs 1.6 lakh]
We’ve finally got our hands on the price of the Bajaj Dominar 250. It costs Rs 1,60,000 (ex-showroom Pune), which makes it Rs 30,002 less than the flagship model, the Bajaj Dominar 400. The on-road price in Pune stands at Rs 1,89,891, which, interestingly, is pretty much the same as the ex-showroom price of the Dominar 400 (Rs 1,90,002 ex-Pune).
Unofficial bookings are open at select dealerships across the country for a token amount ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000, depending on the dealership. The bike has already started reaching dealerships, so expect Bajaj to launch the motorcycle in the coming weeks.
The Bajaj Dominar 400 packs a KTM 250 Duke BS6-derived 248.8cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. It gets a twin-spark setup and is likely to be tuned to be a little more mellow, to suit the Dominar 250’s touring-oriented character. In the Duke, the powerplant produces 30PS and 24Nm, working alongside a 6-speed transmission.

The Bajaj Dominar 250 gets a box-section swingarm instead of the cast unit in the Dominar 400. The tyres are slimmer too. The alloys are shod with MRF Nylogrip Zapper measuring 100-section up front and 130-section at the rear. Another notable change is the split-type instrument cluster. The second pod on the tank, which houses only the tell-tale lights, is similar to the previous-generation Dominar 400. The information in the main pod is also similar to the old-gen Dominar 400, so that means there’s no real-time average fuel-efficiency indicator and the likes. The primary rivals of this motorcycle include the Yamaha FZ25 and the Suzuki Gixxer 250.
