Earlier, this particular version was only available in certain pockets of our country
  • It costs Rs 3,597 more than the single-seat disc brake version.
  • Aside from the seating changes, you also get different colour schemes, a small belly pan and split grab rails.
  • It is powered by the same 124.4cc single-cylinder BS6 engine.
  • The Bajaj Pulsar 125 has become quite a popular model among the Indian masses with over a lakh units sold since its launch last year, making the sporty brand all the more accessible. Now, Bajaj Auto has launched the split-seat version of the BS6 Pulsar 125 in all parts of the country. It was earlier restricted to just a few states such as Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and Telangana. It is available with a front disc brake as standard and costs Rs 79,091 (ex-showroom Delhi), Rs 3,597 more than the single-seat front disc brake version of the same bike.

This particular BS6 variant was spotted earlier this month in dealerships. What we didn’t know back then was its price, which has now been revealed. For the extra asking price, Bajaj has given this particular variant some different styling bits. The small belly pan is kind of like the one you find on the larger Pulsars and so are the split grab rails. Bajaj has also given the Pulsar 125 split-seat version a couple of new colours to subtly differentiate it from its regular counterpart.

In the official press statement, Bajaj has cited that the 124.4cc single-cylinder counterbalanced engine makes 11.8PS and 10.8Nm, which, after clarifying with its officials, are the correct specs of the BS6 engine. That means, the engine has lost 0.4PS and 0.2Nm in the transition BS6 emission norms. The specs shown on the website are wrong and Bajaj will soon rectify them.

What remains the same is the foundation of the bike -- a double-downtube frame suspended by a 31mm fork and twin gas-charged shocks. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with MRF rubber while braking hardware comprises a 240mm front disc and 130mm rear drum unit. CBS is standard.
