Commenting on the launch, Atul Gupta, CEO, Being Human E-Cycles, said, “Being Human E-Cycles are designed to be user-friendly and easy to manage on Indian roads. One of the main differentiators of the e-cycles is that they are likely to need less maintenance as they have fewer moving parts than conventional bicycles. With a maximum speed of 25 Km/hr, the Being Human E-Cycle, as certified by ARAI, is exempt from various regulations, and does not require a license or registration to operate.”

In terms of design, the Being Human Cycle looks similar to any conventional bicycle but it houses a small rechargeable electric motor which is good enough to propel the cycle up to a 25kmph top speed. The electric motor can be actuated with a button that is attached to the handlebar and has a range of 30km, which should be sufficient for cycling around cityscapes. According to the manufacturer, the Being Human E-Cycle has been tested for about one and half years.
