The prototype model has already been unveiled at the ‘21 Beijing Motor Show
  • This QJ7000D by QJ Motors will be sold under the Benelli brand in most markets.
  • Gets a dash of modern features including LED lights and a digital instrument cluster.
  • Will be set to rival 125cc petrol-powered bikes.
  • The international and domestic EV market seems to be growing dramatically these days with a lot of new electric motorcycles and scooters hitting the streets ever so often. Benelli’s sister marque, QJ Motors, is also working on an upcoming electric motorcycle. The early prototype was showcased at the 2021 Beijing Motor Show and now the patent design for this electric motorcycle has surfaced on the web.

This bike has been christened QJ7000D and based on the name, it could likely pack a 7kW motor. However, the Chinese bikemaker claims that it gets a 10kW motor with a top speed of 100kmph. Given these numbers, the QJ7000D should likely have 125cc ICE bikes in its crosshairs.

The patent images also reveal that the bike will feature LED illumination and a TFT display. The design looks quite sporty and sleek albeit larger than usual 125cc motorcycles.

It sports premium underpinnings as well. QJ Motors has equipped the QJ7000D with a USD fork and monoshock. The bike gets alloy wheels and disc brakes at both ends. Meanwhile, the fuel tank cavity will be used as a storage bin, which the manufacturer claims is spacious enough for a full-face helmet.

Expect QJ Motors to launch the bike in a few months in China. And if all goes well, it might even make it to the international markets under the Benelli brand.
