The Benelli 600i is now available with ABS as standard equipment, and it now sees a price bump of around Rs 40,000 over the outgoing version. Priced at Rs 5.73 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), the Benelli still carries the baton for the most affordable motorcycle with an inline four cylinder engine in the country. It is the very first stage of ABS upgradation as the manufacturer will be making it standard across the entire model lineup in near future.
The Italian company manages to keep the cost down by locally assembling the bike at DSK’s manufacturing facility in Wai, close to Pune.
As we said, the naked street fighter is powered by an inline four, which produces a good 85PS of power when the needle hits 11,500rpm, and a respectable torque of 54.6Nm at 10,500rpm. It is this motor and its characteristic exhaust note that has attracted a large number of enthusiasts towards it. Now, with the addition of the ABS the 600i is sure to widen its reach as more bikers are looking forward to ABS as standard equipment on a middle-weight performance bike.
The ABS-equipped version will arrive at various dealerships by the end of this week, so go get yours booked now! As far as the non-ABS 600is are concerned, they'll continue to sell at their current price till stock lasts.
