Minor exterior updates and a few additions on the inside make the X1 fresher

New BMW X1

BMW has revealed the updated X1 at the 2014 Detroit motor show. The age is beginning to show on the X1 in light of fresher competition like the Audi Q3 and the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLA class but in this mid-cycle refresh, BMW hasn’t given the X1 a thorough makeover.

Instead, there are minor exterior modifications like a new lower air intake on the front bumper and daytime running lights. The X1 also gets new optional 17-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the new X1 when ordered with BMW ConnectedDrive and Sat-Nav will be able to download apps for smartphones via the internet.

There are no changes to the mechanicals and the same engine carries forward to the updated X1. So powering the updated X1 will be the familiar 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel mill dishing out 187PS of power at 4,000 rpm and 380 Nm of peak torque between 1,750-2,750 rpm.
