BREAKING: The Honda City BS6 Petrol Has Already Reached These Cities In India; Prices Revealed

• The BS6-compliant Honda City is priced from Rs 10.22 lakh to Rs 14.68 lakh.
• The BS6 Honda City commands a premium of Rs 10,000 to Rs 16,000 depending on the variant.
• The 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine has been upgraded to meet BS6 emission norms, with 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine expected to follow suit.
• The next-gen 2020 Honda City is slated for a global premiere on November 25.

The prices for the BS6-compliant Honda City have been revealed ahead of its official launch in India. It starts from Rs 10.22 lakh for the base-spec SV variant and goes all the way up to Rs 14.68 lakh for the top-spec ZX CVT variant. This shows a price hike of Rs 10,000 to 16,000 over the respective BS4 variants. Dealers across the country have started accepting bookings for a token of Rs 21,000 to Rs 30,000. Certain dealers across Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka have reported ready stock availability with some even claiming delivery of the BS6 sedan in 15 days. This could suggest that Honda might launch the BS6 City within the coming weeks. 

That does seem believable when you factor that the all-new 2020 Honda City is also slated for a global debut this month, and could come to India by the middle of next year. Meanwhile, here's a detailed look at the price list of the BS6 Honda City below:

The SV manual variant commands the least premium here while the VX manual variant sees the highest price hike.  

The BS6-compliant 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol motor develops 119PS of power, which is the same as the BS4-compliant unit. We expect the 145Nm torque rating to remain unchanged as well. The Honda City petrol can be had with either a 5-speed manual or CVT. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor will soon be upgraded to meet BS6 emission norms. It currently develops 100PS of power and 200Nm of torque, and can be had with a 6-speed manual only.

The next-gen Honda City is slated to make its global deut on November 25 in Bangkok, Thailand. The Japanese carmaker has already started testing the model on our shores.
