The S-Presso Is The Latest To Join Maruti’s CNG Lineup

Shortly after giving the BS6 Celerio a CNG trim, Maruti Suzuki has now launched BS6-compliant CNG variants of the S-Presso with prices starting from Rs 4.84 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) onwards. It will be offered in four variant trims : LXI, LXI (O), VXI and VXI (O). Here’s how the CNG variant pricing compares to its petrol-only counterparts:

As per the above table, the CNG variants are dearer by Rs 75,000 compared to its petrol-only counterparts. The base STD variant and the top spec VXI+ variants are the only petrol-only models.
Under the hood, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso CNG continues to utilise the BS6-compliant 1.0-litre engine found in its petrol sibling. Power figures are rated at 59PS of power in CNG mode and 68PS in petrol-only mode. The CNG variants are limited to a 5-speed manual gearbox with no AMT option. Maruti Suzuki claims an average of 31.2 km/kg for the S-Presso S-SNG.
With its current variant options, the S-Presso S-CNG misses out on bits like a touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted audio controls, internally adjustable ORVMs, and body-coloured door handles available in the top-spec VXI+ variant.
