Four models have been updated with the rest to follow suit
  • Street Twin, Bonneville T100, T120, and Bonneville Speedmaster have been updated.
  • For now, the BS6 models have not received a price hike over BS4.
  • Triumph will be increasing prices from July.
  • 2020 Street Triple RS will be launched in India tomorrow.
  • Triumph has just announced that four motorcycles from its Bonneville range have already been updated to BS6 emission norms and have been on sale since January. The British bikemaker has, however, not increased the prices of the bikes after the BS6 updates. And even though it seemed that Triumph would hike the prices of these new BS6 bikes once the deadline kicked in, the company has decided against doing so until July.

Triumph’s BS6 innings in India began with the Rocket 3, which was launched a day before India Bike Week 2019. Its ever-popular Bonneville series has also been updated to meet BS6 norms. Of them, Triumph India has updated two of the 900cc models -- the Street Twin and Bonneville T100 -- and the other two of the 1200cc range: Bonneville T120 and Bonneville Speedmaster. Rest of the Bonneville range will receive the BS6 updates over the course of 2020.

Even after meeting the BS6 emission norms, the 900cc motor on the Street Twin continues to produce 65PS and 80Nm. The T100’s mill runs a lower state of tune than its sportier twin, pumping out 55PS and 76.73Nm even now. The two 1200cc bikes also run their respective power trims as it was in the BS4 era: 80PS and 105Nm on the T120 and 77PS and 106Nm on the Speedmaster.

Triumph has also extended the warranty period, regular as well as the purchased extended one, until June 30. This should provide much-needed relief to customers whose warranty would have lapsed during the enforced lockdown period.

The launch of the 2020 Street Triple RS takes place tomorrow and the Tiger 900 in the second half of May. Only the fate of the larger Tiger 1200, which we spotted being tested a couple of months ago, remains to be determined. Triumph is likely to unveil it at EICMA 2020.
