Bugatti has released yet another video teasing the upcoming Divo hypercar. Named after Albert Divo, a French racing driver known for winning the legendary Targa Florio race twice in a Type 35 during the late 1920s, the upcoming hypercar is set to cost €5 million (Rs 40 crore approx.). Likely to be based on the Chiron, the Divo will be limited to just 40 units and is set to be unveiled on August 24 at ‘The Quail - A Motorsports Gathering’ in California.

The latest video shows elements such as the tail lamp design of the Divo. Unlike the Chiron’s slim and connected unit, the Divo is set to feature crystal-like elements poking out of the cluster, similar to but as crowded as the light blade design seen on the Aston Martin Vulcan.
Another teaser image shows the side panel that features multiple vents to direct airflow and optimise aerodynamics to probably help improve its handling characteristics. Other changes over the Chiron include various weight-saving measures and a new design which should help improve downforce at high speeds.
Chiron Sport
As far as the powertrain is concerned, the Divo is expected to feature the same 8.0-litre, W16 engine with four two-stage turbochargers as the Chiron. However, the Divo is likely to feature a more aggressive tune to justify its enormous price tag. Since Bugatti has already used weight-saving measures combined with a stiffer suspension setup in the Chiron Sport to make it go faster around a race track, expect the Divo to be more aggressively engineered to make it an even better handler. We just can’t wait for the hypercar to be revealed and measure it against the Chiron Sport. So stay tuned.
