Buy Skoda Rapid in 2014 and pay in 2016

December is perhaps the most challenging time of the year for automobile manufacturers and dealers to sell their car models, as buyers tend to postpone new car purchases to the New Year. To coerce prospective buyers to make the purchase in the year end, Skoda India has come up with an interesting campaign called – "Buy the new Skoda Rapid in 2014 and pay in 2016”.

For the month of December, Skoda is offering the new Skoda Rapid for a down payment amount of Rs 1.87 lakh. Buyers need to just pay a meagre sum of Re 1 for the entire year of 2015 and the actual EMI of Rs 17,563 would begin in 2016. Thee finance scheme is offered exclusively by Volkswagen Finance India Pvt Ltd. 

Along with this lucrative offer, Skoda India is also offering a Garmin portable navigation system equipped with a reverse camera to the first 50 buyers of the new Skoda Rapid under the scheme.

This limited period scheme is available on Google’s innovative online shopping festival (2014 GOSF) about which we had reported earlier this month. (Also read: GOSF 2014 gives carmakers a December boost) Over half a dozen car manufacturers have participated in the 2014 GOSF including Renault, Ford Mahindra and, of course, Skoda India.

The Skoda Rapid has received a mild makeover a couple of months ago, starting at Rs 7.22 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The 2014 Skoda Rapid comes powered by a new 1.5-litre diesel engine capable of 105PS of peak power at 4400rpm and 250Nm of peak torque from 1500-2500rpm and also comes with the option of a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.
