Italian two-wheeler manufacturer, Piaggio has opened the doors to its Motoplex multi-brand store in Chennai. The company had successfully launched two Motoplex stores before this, one in Pune and the other in Hyderabad.
Motoplex is a premium multi-brand retail store which is based on a global concept of the Piaggio group. This store concept been replicated in India after its successful run in major international cities like Milan, New York, Shanghai and Singapore.
Stefano Pelle, Managing Director and CEO, Piaggio India inaugurated the Chennai Motoplex store. The store is located at 4th Avenue, Ashok Nagar, Chennai and has a carpet area of 4,061 sq ft.
Speaking at the inauguration, Stefano Pelle said, “It is a proud moment for the Piaggio Group to bring our flagship store to Chennai - our third in India and second in the south of the country. Motoplex as a concept, offers the experience of Italian biking under one roof along with an exciting overview of the two-wheeler world, reflecting the innovative vision of the Piaggio Group. The store not only showcases the long-standing history of our brands - Vespa, Aprilia and Moto Guzzi but also highlights their fascinating journey that proudly stands for ‘Made in Italy’.”
“With the display of various brands from the Piaggio Group, the Motoplex store aims to achieve the same success it has had internationally. Chennai as a two-wheeler market has always been of strategic importance to us and it was a logical move to bring this concept store to this city,” He further added.
Satish Mehta, Executive Director of Chennai Motoplex said, “Today, is a moment of fulfilment as we become a part of Piaggio’s new retail experience, the Motoplex. It is indeed our pleasure to be representing Piaggio’s premium brands in Chennai.”
The main idea of the Motoplex store is to provide an innovative experience to customers by bringing in all of Piaggio Group brands like Vespa, Aprilia and Moto Guzzi under one roof.
