Chevrolet compact SUV leaked

The new Chevrolet Liva compact SUV has been leaked through patent pictures. The car in question is the Liva compact SUV that General Motors under the Chevrolet brand will launch in Russia and could be similar to the Adra that will make it to India in 2016.

The new Liva seen in the pictures is essentially the production version of the concept car of the same name that was showcased last year and seems to be almost identical apart from the large wheels that were on the concept. The car that will make it to India will be similar to the one seen here and will go up against the likes of the Ford Ecosport, the Mahindra TUV300 and the likes of the upcoming Maruti XA Alpha.

Although not much is known about the version of the Niva that will make it top India, it will be available with both a petrol and a diesel engine. Expect the petrol to be a 1.2-litre engine like we get in the Chevrolet Sail and the diesel to be the 1.3-litre multijet that is also fitted to most Fiat, Tata and Maruti Suzuki cars in India.

Although the Indian version of the Liva, or the Adra as it might be called might not be very cheap, expect the base model of the car to cost about Rs 6 lakh and the top of the line version of the compact SUV to come in at about Rs 10 lakh. Also expect Chevrolet to eventually bring an automatic and an all-wheel-drive version in the next few years to make it even more attractive to Indian audiences. The Chevrolet Adra will make it to India early next year.
