Chevrolet Trailblazer Gets Price Cut

Chevrolet India today unveiled two new products to revive its India operations. The first product is the Trailblazer SUV that will be launched in October 2015 to take on the new Fortuner, Endeavour and Pajero Sport in the Rs 25-30 lakh SUV segment. The second and the larger number churner will be the Spin MPV due in early 2017. The Spin will take on the Ertiga and Mobilio in the MPV segment and will replace the Enjoy MPV. Chevrolet also announced the introduction of the new Beat hatchback and notchback in the first half of 2017.
The new products are part of GM India’s revival strategy that includes fresh 1 Billion dollar investment in the Company’s India operations. No timeline has been mentioned as of now though. Besides the Trailblazer, Spin and Beat hatchback and notchback, six other locally built products will be introduced in India in the next five years. General Motors is developing a new vehicle family for its four emerging markets – Brazil, China, Mexico and India for these six dedicated products.
General Motors also announced the shutdown of its Halol manufacturing unit operations in 2016. The company will consolidate its operations to just one plant at Talegaon from now on.
