More and more cars come equipped with something called a climate control air conditioning system. Read on to know what it is

As we all know the air conditioning system of a car is used to cool or heat the cabin of a car as the need maybe. What many people do not realise is that they constantly have to adjust the fan speed or the temperature knob as the car becomes too cold or too hot after a while. This is where climate control steps in.

A climate control system has a temperature sensor hidden in the passenger cabin. The temperature knob can be set on a particular temperature within a reasonable temperature band. The temperature can be set to a degree say 21 degree Celsius. Now the compressor will cool the cabin to that temperature, once the cabin temperature is about to fall to 20 degrees Celsius the compressor will be cut out and only the fan of the A/C will be on. Once the cabin temperature increases to 22 degrees Celsius due to body heat generated by passengers and out side temperatures the compressor will automatically turned on to pump cool air into the cabin and bring the temperature down to 21 degrees Celsius.  The system is very helpful for the driver as there is no distraction of constantly adjusting the fan speed or temperature when the air conditioning is on.

Nowadays there are dual zone and four zone climate control systems that lets each passenger select the temperature of the air coming through the air vents towards their seat.
