The lockdown situation in the case of the auto industry has caused customers to be unable to be physically present at dealerships for test driving, booking or taking delivery of vehicles. Thus the only other option for carmakers to connect with customers is through the virtual world. And Hyundai has done just that by rolling out its ‘Click To Buy’ online platform by tying up with over 500 dealerships across India. This initiative was initially introduced in the Delhi-NCR region in January this year.
The ‘Click to Buy’ platform acts as an additional sales channel for Hyundai’s dealerships to create additional opportunities for remote interaction with customers, especially during periods when customers are unable to visit showrooms. It essentially provides the customer a digital experience of buying a car starting with a registration at the portal.
Post registering, customers can choose all available Hyundai models including the new Creta and the facelifted Verna and select their preferred configurations such as exterior and interior colors. Customers can also avail the option of a personal assistant during the purchasing process. Other features provided by ‘Click To Buy’ include a choice of financing options for loans, as well as delivery options like picking up the vehicle from the selected dealer or have the vehicle delivered to a location of the customer’s choosing.
The carmaker also provides other online services like ‘Hyundai On Whatsapp’ that provides the customer updates on the vehicle service process from online service booking to post service feedback. Features such as vehicle service bookings, 360-degree view of a model, car bookings and test drive bookings can be done via the Hyundai Care application.
Expect more carmakers to follow the digital trend to limit the damage that is currently being caused by the lockdown imposed to contain the coronavirus pandemic.
