With COVID-19 rearing its head once again in India, we’ve just learnt that Hyundai has delayed the launch of the Alcazar. It was slated to be unveiled by April-end, with a price announcement shortly thereafter. Hyundai is likely to decide on a new timeline for the Alcazar which will be unveiled and launched shortly.

The Alcazar is essentially a longer Creta with three-row seating. Not only is its 2,670mm wheelbase longer than the Creta by 150mm, it’s also a size bigger than the Safari and Hector Plus. Like its rivals, the Alcazar can be had either as a 6-seater with captain seats or a 7-seater with bench seats for middle row occupants. The former comes with a unique floor-mounted central armrest with cup holders and a wireless phone charger.

Other notable features likely to be part of the package are a 10.25-inch infotainment system with connected car tech, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. Safety should be covered by multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, and electronic stability control. The 360-degree camera should make the process of parking this lengthy SUV rather hassle-free.
