Two-wheeler industry in India has been on the forefront and growing. The simple reason to that is the entry of new manufacturers in the emerging Indian two-wheeler market. While Ducati primarily has its fleet for India with 1000 cc and above bikes, the superbike maker will take out the lower range bikes for the country at the 2012 Auto Expo to be held in January.
While the current range comprises of the 1198, Diavel, Hyper Motard, Monster, Multistrada, Sport Classic and the 1099 Streetfighter and Streetfighter S, which would be showcased at the Ducati stall, the company will also unveil the 848 Streetfighter for the country, its first naked street bike in the 800cc segment. But, the 1199 Panigale would be the centre of attraction.
The 'less-is-more' philosophy behind all Monsters underlines Ducati's never-ending pursuit of genuinely compact, high performance motorcycles, but these new models have succeeded in being even more 'pared down' than their predecessors. With any details detracting from the Monster concept being eliminated, 'less-is-more' also means 'less-is-Monster'. Less weight plus more torque equals fun-filled riding.
