Bajaj Auto is all set to launch a new 150cc motorcycle called the Discover 150F in August this year. The Discover 150F will be a semi-faired motorcycle, the ‘F’ suffix in the model name implying the fairing.
The bike will feature a newly developed twin spark four-valve 150cc single cylinder air cooled engine. The new engine is expected to produce about 14PS of peak power and 12Nm of maximum torque.
The bike will share the platform with the now-discontinued Discover 125ST and will borrow several parts and frame from the 125ST. Expect a mono shock rear suspension to complement the sporty half-faired look and petal front disc brake.
The Discover series from Bajaj is considered to be more commuter-oriented than the highly successful and performance-oriented Pulsar range motorcycles. With a half fairing on what is essentially a commuter-oriented model, Bajaj intends to offer more style and substance in a 150cc motorcycle with the Discover 150F. And to keep the differences stark between the Discover 150F and the Pulsar 150, the pricing is expected to be highly competitive – between Rs 55,000-58,000 ex-showroom Delhi.
