The Ducati Diavel, which was discontinued in the Indian market in early this year, will be relaunched by late 2017 in India

The Ducati Diavel, a power cruiser that made its global debut at the 2010 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy, is one of the most iconic motorcycles on sale globally. Ever since Ducati commenced Indian operations in 2015, the Diavel has been one of the best selling models for the manufacturer. However, the Italian manufacturer had to pull the plug on the Diavel as it didn’t comply with the new BS-IV emission norms. In a recent interaction with Ducati, we have learnt that the power cruiser will be back in the market sooner than we expected. Although we weren’t given a specific timeline, we think the Diavel will be launched by November. Also Read - Ducati Diavel Review

With its raked out fat forks and large alloy wheels, the Ducati Diavel has a mean stance and is an aggressively styled motorcycle. In fact, ‘Diavel’ in Italian means the devil and the name completely suits the character of the motorcycle. The Diavel was the first production motorcycle to feature a full colour display and a secondary display mounted on the fuel tank that showed the various riding modes. The Diavel also gets full-LED headlamps that not only provides great luminance, but enhances its looks too. The Diavel is powered by a 1198cc, L-Twin motor that churns out 154PS of power and 123Nm of peak torque. Electronic goodies include 3 riding modes, multi-level ABS and traction control, and ride-by-wire.

Earlier, the Ducati Diavel was brought to the country from Thailand as it attracted a lower tax when compared to importing it directly from Italy. This meant that Ducati could price the bike at Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom) instead of the Rs 30 lakh you’d have had to shell out if the bike came right from its country of origin. We expect the soon to be launched Diavel’s prices to remain the same. The Ducati Diavel competes against the Yamaha V-Max and the 2017 Harley-Davidson Fat Bob, which will be launched soon in India.
