Ducati has introduced an entry-level variant of its larger Scrambler 1100 model called the Dark Pro. Obviously, it is a dark themed motorcycle, making it a more affordable way to own the Scrambler 1100. This new trim comes in a month after the launch of the motorcycle in India, with prices starting from Rs 11.95 lakh for the regular Pro model. We’re guessing Ducati will bring this colour edition to India next year and further lower the asking price by around Rs 50,000 or so.
So, what makes the Dark Pro the entry-level variant? The tank is finished in matte black with a metal-finish teardrop panel on both sides. Most of the other parts too get this natural metal finish, like the radiator cover, the under tank panel, and the heat shield for the exhaust. Even the flat bench-style seat has a plain old leather cover and not a premium one with white piping.
Aside from these small aesthetic changes, the Dark Pro remains the same as the Pro. The 1,079cc L-twin air-cooled mill puts out 84.7PS and 90.5Nm. It now comes loaded with electronic rider aids such as three riding modes, lean-sensitive traction control, and cornering ABS. You get fully-adjustable suspension units at both ends. The USD fork is sourced from Marzocchi while the monoshock is built by Kayaba. Brembo braking hardware is used to bring the bike to a halt as the 17-inch alloys come shod with Pirelli MT60 RS tyres.
